TJ Scott is best known for his directing prowess of the hottest TV series on air – Star Trek, Gotham, Bates Motel, Frontier, Longmire, Spartacus, Black Sails, Queen of the South, Dark Matter, 12 Monkeys, The Strain, Hemlock Grove, and Constantine to name a few.

His directing awards and nominations include the CSA Award for  Best Director for  Orphan Black and six CSA nominations for Caught, including Best Director and Best Limited Run Series. He also received five Gemini Award nominations for his TV feature  Deadliest Sea,  and numerous wins and nominations of Golden Reel Awards for the groundbreaking series Xena, Hercules  and Young Hercules. His episode of  Playmakers, "The Piss Man” for ESPN, was listed by the American Film Institute as one of the Top 10 episodes of television of the year.

TJ has also written many TV movie and episodic television scripts. In the 2000s, he and writing partner Kevin Lund had a string of front-page-of-the-trades spec sales, including Vivaldi to Sony/Columbia for Imagine Executive  Producers  Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, Airtight to Miramax, The Secret Lives of Road Crews to Dreamworks for Executive  Producer  Steven Spielberg, and Tracers to Newline.

TJ also has a strong passion for photography. His award-winning work has been published in and on the covers of dozens of magazines, and captured hundreds of pages of editorial and fashion spreads, as well as book covers and album covers for bands. This year, TJ and legendary photographer Dennys Ilic partnered to open Cinematic Pictures Group Gallery in the heart of Hollywood. The 4,500 foot gallery hosts photography and art shows, and is a sought after venue to throw red carpet industry parties and concerts.

In 2016,  TJ and Dennys Ilic launched Cinematic Pictures Publishing. The company publishes and distributes big, bold, button-pushing art/photography books.

TJ’s philanthropic work is best realized with the highly successful coffee-table book series “In the Tub”. The volumes of these books are jam-packed with a veritable who’s who of celebrities from the film, television, music, and sports industries. The profits from the sales of these books go to breast cancer awareness.
